Concept sketches for a game that never was

A few days ago I was looking for something like a birth certificate or something trivial and ran across these sketches I had done for Intracorp Capstone back in the 90s.

They were for use in a game that was never completed that was to use the Duke Nukem “Build Engine”. With the engine all shapes had to be simple and extruded from the ceiling or floor, or they had to be sprites or wall textures. These limitations were, of course, a little restricting but it was fun anyhow. You also had to keep in mind that any graphics could potentially slow game play. It was always a challenge to strike a balance.

I took the family to visit The Venetian Pool in Coral Gables, Florida last Sunday. We had only peeked in the gates before and it was the last chance to visit and swim in the pool before they close for major renovations.
