An Illustrated Map for an International Speedway- Speedway Illustrated Map
I just completed a speedway illustrated map for The Dover International Speedway in Dover Delaware. The Dover International Speedway features the world's fastest one mile oval known as The Monster Mile and has been hosting NASCAR events since it first opened in July 1969. The complex is 750 acres and includes The Dover Downs Hotel & Casino. The speedway is a complete vacation destination for race fans.
The staff at The Dover International Speedway had seen my previous work and wanted a map for multiple applications ranging from handouts to "you are here signs" to billboards. It was a great project for me and both challenging and exciting.
As usual I did all of the work in Adobe Illustrator. As a result the vector based art can be scaled without losing resolution. I made a time lapse video of the creation of the map as I worked. I hope you enjoy it.
