The Palm Beach International Boat Show of 2013 is still a little ways away on March 21st through the 24th, but I am already hard at work and quite a ways along on the map. Like the Saint Petersburg Power and Sailboat Show and The Yacht and Brokerage Show in Miami Beach I have made this map a virtual 3D model that can be lit and rendered from multiple angles. The map encompasses an area known as the Palm Beach Waterfront and City Commons as well as extending south along North Flagler Street. I have made a few renderings as I work that I wanted to share. I have also been working on a time lapse video of the creation of the map. I am waiting to get the map closer to final completion before I release the video, but you can expect to see it soon (now available here).
If you are an exhibitor in the show and would like a map highlighting your exhibit area for your marketing purposes please contact me for a quote. Additional information on the show is available from Show Management. |

The maps for the 2013 Yacht and Brokerage Show in Miami Beach are now complete.
In addition to revising the existing map of the primary Yacht and Brokerage Show in Miami Beach map for the phone app I created a new 3D map (as seen in my previous post featuring a video fly through) for print which will be featured in Show Management’s boat show program as well as in Yachts International Magazine. The new 3D map is a big departure from last years map and a huge step forward in quality and flexibility. The 3D map extends from around 41st Street and Collins Avenue north up Collins Avenue and ends just south of the 53rd Street Park. The map includes the Fontainebleau Hotel, the Eden Roc, The Blue and Green Diamond and The Miami Beach Sea Resort and Spa. It is always exciting to get an opportunity to illustrate so many famous and historic places.
Also of note…The parking map from last year was also updated.
The boat show is February 14th through 18th. Admission to the boat show is free and boat show programs containing the maps are available free of charge at the show. The phone app is available for freee download here. Additional information on the show is available from Show Management.

I have just completed revisions of The National Marine Manufacturers Association’s (informally known as NMMA) maps for The Miami International Boat Show, Strictly Sail Miami and the New Yacht & Power Boat Show at Sea Isle Marina. Of course I also designed a transit map, but that was covered in my previous post and I updated the Miami Beach Convention Center Parking map as well. They will all be published in the boat show program available for free at the boat show. I hope you find them helpful.

Just before the holidays I was hired for this little project. The client wanted a theme park styled hiking map to lay out some adventures and games for the children of the cabin owners.
The project looks deceptively straightforward. In fact there were nine layers to this map, making it surpass many of my boat show maps in file size and processor demands. The client and I both feel it was worth it and the little things like the many trees and subtle textures really make it something special.
