This animated marina scene was originally created as the signature illustration for the 2016 Stuart Boat Show. For the following year's event, the artwork was refreshed to present a new perspective while keeping its core character intact. The updated version features a wider, more inclusive view with additional boats and a vibrant Florida sky, complete with a bright sun, to emphasize energy and atmosphere. The artwork is a vector illustration built in Adobe Illustrator. The process started with my own photographic reference and hand drawn sketches to capture the specific details and layout of the location. These sketches were then developed into the final digital artwork. The technical precision of the vector process is balanced by an intentional effort to retain the lively, illustrative quality of the initial drawings. After the static illustration was completed, I later developed it into a motion graphic. Using Adobe After Effects, I applied subtle animation to key elements within the scene. This minimal motion, such as gentle ripples on the water and shifting light, is designed to add a layer of life and engagement without overwhelming the illustration's detail. The result is a short, looping animation suitable for digital displays, website headers, or social media promotion. This project demonstrates how a core illustrative asset can be adapted and enhanced over time, from a detailed print ready vector graphic to an engaging animated piece for digital use.
