Boat Show Parking Map
Client: Show Management

This project represents the first dedicated parking map I created for the Palm Beach International Boat Show. This initial version would later evolve into the more comprehensive transportation and parking guides used in subsequent years. For this 2016 edition, I adopted a straightforward, clear, and functional approach.
The map is an overhead, vector based graphic designed for immediate comprehension. It clearly indicated six primary parking facilities. Basic roadways were included, with their names labeled directly on the illustration for quick reference. A simple and intuitive color scheme was used, with land areas shown in green and waterways in blue.
With ample space available in the layout, I integrated additional useful information. This included the official show schedule and the pricing for the featured parking garages. Key locations such as show entrances and the "Come By Boat" docking area were clearly marked. A defining outline around the entire show grounds provided viewers with a clear understanding of the event's footprint in relation to the surrounding downtown area.
The overall design is intentionally minimalist. This simplicity was precisely what the project required at the time, offering a clean and uncluttered guide. The more recent parking and transportation maps for this show have necessarily become more information dense, incorporating shuttle routes and additional services. Maintaining a sense of clarity and visual order amidst that increased complexity has become an engaging annual design challenge, one that began with this foundational 2016 map.
